Whitehall Stable takes its responsibility very seriously. We exemplify the highest integrity and ethical behavior while supporting our customer base.
James Pippo grew up in Whitehall, New York, the birthplace of the U.S. Navy. As a child his passion for horses developed while contributing to the care of western horses which his father, Vincent Pippo, owned. His grandfather, Arthur Pippo, owned a blacksmith shop called Pippo’s Blacksmith where he shoed many farm horses as well as thoroughbreds. Jim had the privilege of working in these close knit environments, which became the catalyst to knowing that horses would become a special part of his life.
Jim attended Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. Norwich is the oldest private military college in the United States where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After graduating, Jim went to work for Adirondack Steel which was beneficial in many ways. Jim was coached in sales and working in the steel industry, which led to his ownership of a successful sales manufacturing company, Pippo and Associates. The owner of Adirondack Steel kept a stable full of harness horses that raced at Saratoga. Jim was fortunate enough to be a part of this circle, and realized that his passion for horses was going to lead to something exciting in the future.
Currently, Jim resides in the Albany, New York area with his wife, Estelle and has two children, Stephanie and Vincent. For the past few years, he has been the owner of many thoroughbred horses. He enjoys every aspect of the sport, and has become dedicated to offering top level, high quality, racing partnerships.
Vincent Pippo, Vice President, brings tremendous focus and energy to our team. He is involved in all aspects of Whitehall Stable from internal communication to market development. Vincent is also instrumental with his involvement at the major horse sales.
Vincent, a native of the Albany, NY area, attended The Albany Academy and went on to Boston University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in communications. After college, Vincent was employed with a major corporation and brings to Whitehall exceptional experience, knowledge, and most of all enthusiasm.
A native of Wisconsin, Linda Rice is a third generation horse trainer who grew up in the business. She attended Penn State University, while still being actively involved in the breaking, training and development of young horses. As an Exercise Rider and an Assistant Trainer for many years, her passion for racing led her to training horses full time. By the end of 2009 Linda has won nearly 900 races with purse earnings exceeding $28,000,000, securing her position as one of New York’s leading trainers.
Linda’s accomplishments include, winning every graded stakes race for two-year-olds at the prestigious Saratoga race meet. The New York Turf Writers presented Linda with the Four Star Dave Award for her outstanding accomplishments with City Zip. City Zip won four consecutive stakes in a row as a two-year-old, including the Grade I Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga. She has purchased and campaigned over 100 graded stakes winners in addition to many listed stakes winners. She has built her racing team into one of the strongest in the country by developing weanlings, yearlings and two-year-olds into racing prospects. Linda’s horses have set course records at Belmont, Aqueduct, Saratoga, Monmouth Park and Pimlico Race Course. She is also recognized for her training trifecta at Aqueduct in 2007 winning The New York Stallion Series Stake and the “Rice Superfecta” at Saratoga winning the Mechanicsville Stake in 2008. Most recently, Linda edged out Todd Pletcher to win the 2009 training title at Saratoga Race Course, making her the first woman in history to win a major race meet.
Throughout the years, Linda has continued to demonstrate her ability to develop winners at all levels of competition by establishing divisions along the East Coast. Her main stable is located in New York and she currently races at Belmont, Saratoga, Aqueduct, Gulfstream Park and Tampa Bay Downs.
Whitehall Stable is pleased to to include to their team Dr. Barry Eisaman, a dedicated horseman who holds a degree in veterinary science from the University of Pennsylvania. His state of the art facility, Eisaman Equine in Ocala, Florida focuses on the breeding and training of thoroughbreds.
He and his wife Shari own and operate their 300-acre establishment which is primarily a training operation for the Eisamans’ pinhooking business.
In addition, they break and ready horses for the racetrack, as well as accept layups. They also maintain a broodmare band of some 20 mares.
Eisaman serves as a director on the board of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company.
The Eisamans have two children, Matt and Kristina.
"Whitehall Stable exhibited true professionalism. They have found some very exciting racing prospects and have assembled a team that is very talented and trustworthy. They don't mark up their horses excessively like other syndications and they don't drain you with management fees. They will be a partnership for the true horse lover. I am looking forward to many years of high class racing and trips to the winners circle." Brian Rusnak
